Ok, all puns aside, I didn’t think this goal would be achievable today. My plan was to go to “Farm Day” today which is a free festival held on Halloween. At Farm Day, they have zip lines, which is where my goal would have fit in. BUT, as duty called, I had to work instead. Well, by the time I got off work, and took the kid trick or treating, it seemed hopeless to complete the goal.

Today I want to focus on taking risks. Now I don’t plan on going out and taking a risk that will kill me, but it is fun to sometimes step it up a bit to get the old ticker going. There is no feeling equal to reaching that phase of an adrenaline rush that overcomes your nerves.

Adrenaline is released in the form of epinephrine into your blood when your body thinks it is great danger or in situations of extreme fear. Your heart speeds up rapidly, you begin to sweat, and you are truly focused. This is the state I hope to achieve today. This will be interesting to see what I will need to come up with to reach that state.

I was able to pick up the guitar for about an hour today. Man it felt good to play it again! There is just something about music that really perks you up and renews your energy. The kid loved it too! She has her own little guitar that she sometimes plays along side me with.

The benefits of playing music are plenty. So today, let’s blow the dust off of that musical instrument you have laying in the corner of the closet (that’s where mine is :) ). This goal shouldn’t be hard, just a fun and easy one for a Friday.

I know my daughter has been bugging me to play my electric guitar for some time now. So, come on folks let’s do it. And no kids, Guitar Hero does not count!

Spending hours on the boob tube cannot be healthy for me. So today I had a completely free from television day. It gave me plenty of extra time to spend with my energetic spawn child. There really isn’t much effort needed on this goal, other than to have the will power to just not turn it on.

No Television

No Television

The average American watches over 8 hours of television a day. That’s 1/3 of your entire day! Wouldn’t you like to take your day back? I know I would. So from now on, I may still watch an occasional educational show, or a movie every once in a while, but my set will be turned off for most of the day.

Without TV, you could add these things into your day:

  • 1. Meditation (which went better for me this morning)
  • 2. Time with your kids or spouse
  • 3. Get a second job or start a website :)
  • 4. Go for a walk or run
  • 5. Get some much needed chores done

What will YOU do with all your extra time by not watching TV? Let’s see some examples.
